That seems the most likely explanation to me as well. Another alternative scenario I'd contemplate is that his libido is on the floor for whatever other reason, and that instead of addressing the issue, he gets angry when she comes on to him this aggressively as it forces him to confront his "failure" to be the manly alpha horn dog that he is supposed to be (in his mind). In this situation, he would also be reminded that his wife is not only a sexual being with or without him, but also a rather unsatisfied one. Either way, his reaction shows emotional immaturity and point towards an unhappy future for them unless he becomes willing to dig deeper and deal with whatever is going on.
There's a thing where once you have kids, some men find it difficult to see their wives as anything other than a mother.
